Rib Cartilage for Revision Rhinoplasty in Beverly Hills

Rib cartilage is not something every Revision Rhinoplasty patient needs.

The reason it sometimes becomes part of the conversation is that previous surgery can change the amount and strength of cartilage remaining in the nose.

Imagine a patient whose first Rhinoplasty removed or altered cartilage that originally helped support the nasal tip. Years later, correcting the tip may require more than simply reshaping what remains. Additional structural material may be necessary to rebuild support.

In selected cases, the patient’s own rib cartilage can provide that material.

The decision is not based on the fact that a Rhinoplasty is a revision. We look at the current nasal framework, what needs to be corrected, how much support is already present, and what type of reconstruction may be required.

Revision Rhinoplasty begins with understanding what the previous operation changed before deciding what the next operation should do.

If you have had a previous Rhinoplasty and are considering another procedure, we can evaluate the existing structure and explain which options may be appropriate for your specific anatomy.
