Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group is proud to specialize in the mommy makeover procedure. The mommy makeover is designed to counterbalance the adverse effects childbearing might have on a woman’s body. Each mommy makeover is unique to the individual because most makeovers combine two procedures — the breast augmentation and tummy tuck.
Trail-Blazing Methods and Procedures
Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group has pioneered and championed the Single Incision Mommy Makeover (SIMM) technique, performed by Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke. This procedure combines the two most popular post-pregnancy procedures, breast augmentation and tummy tuck, into a single operation. Where normally it would take at least three incisions to get the job done while performing each procedure individually, Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group gets it done in one!*
With this revolutionary technique, both the abdominoplasty and breast augmentation procedures can be done using the same incision used for the tummy tuck. The Single Incision Mommy Makeover will result in just one scar just above the pubic line that can easily be hidden by your underwear or bikini. Once we perform the abdominoplasty, breast implants are carefully put into place to give you the most natural-looking results available. This is the one and only method for a truly scar-less breast augmentation procedure available, and a fantastic weapon in a woman’s arsenal to reinvigorate her body.*
However, each patient is different and requires a custom-tailored plan for their mommy makeover. Depending on the extent of post-pregnancy changes, a prospective patient may require a breast lift along with an augmentation or an augmentation alone. This will be thoroughly discussed in person at the time of the consultation.
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
The “tummy tuck” procedure is also known as abdominoplasty. When executed correctly, this procedure can help remove excess skin and fat from around your abdomen. During this process, we can also tighten your abdominal wall at the same time, making the tummy tuck beneficial to both the aesthetic value as well as the functional purposes of your abdominal area. Widening of the muscles and fascia (rectus diastasis) that will happen over time can be corrected by bringing stretched muscle back together. It’s like tightening an internal corset.
After pregnancy or as a result of weight loss, it is common for skin to become slack and saggy. Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group can perform tummy tucks to perfection. We often urge those who are considering breast augmentation to consider the mommy makeover, which can reduce recovery time, scarring, and number of incisions.*
Types of Tummy Tuck Procedures
Full Tummy Tuck — This is the most common tummy tuck procedure. The full tummy tuck removes your excess loose skin between your pubic area and belly button. We’ll expand the skin of the upper abdomen to cover the surface area left from the removed skin. In addition to skin removal and skin tightening, the rectus diastasis (separation of abdominal muscles) can be repaired, restoring muscle.
Mini Tummy Tuck –Removes the skin from the lower abdomen but will not affect the upper abdomen. Can be executed in tandem with liposuction when needed. This type of TT addresses skin laxity below your belly button, but it will not repair muscle separation.
Extended Tummy Tuck — This is the same as the full tummy tuck, but will be an extended procedure to remove additional skin on either side of the abdomen. An ideal procedure for patients who want to tighten their sides, when the patient wants to be rid of excess skin and fat due to significant weight loss.
Tummy Tuck Combination Procedures — Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group’s tummy tuck procedures can be performed along with additional procedures, which will optimize and customize your results. Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke have earned their status as the mommy makeover specialists, performing multiple procedures in tandem with the tummy tuck to restore a patient’s pre-pregnancy body.*
On Breast Augmentation
Breast size and shape can come down to heredity, but it doesn’t matter which genetic cards you’ve been dealt. Age, pregnancy, and significant weight loss can leave women discontented with some aspect of their breasts. This makes breast augmentation an integral part of the mommy makeover process.
To achieve more contoured breasts with a more aesthetically pleasing shape, Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke perform the breast augmentation procedure as part of the mommy makeover to exceptional ends. Breast augmentation surgery is safe, effective, and yields more realistic results than ever.* Through the Single Incision Mommy Makeover, we can perform your breast augmentation in the only scar-free fashion known to science — through the incision used for the tummy tuck procedure.
Are You a Candidate for the Single-Incision Mommy Makeover?
Successful candidates for the mommy makeover procedure use this treatment in conjunction with a healthy diet and daily exercise routine. Though we recommend it and brand it as a treatment for mothers, it’s a perfectly acceptable and encouraged route for any patient who could benefit from both the tummy tuck and breast augmentation procedure. This procedure is in no way intended to be a substitute for these life-altering habits. A great diet and exercise routine will help ensure optimum results.*
Advantages to the Mommy Makeover
There are countless advantages to having a single-incision procedure over more conventional mommy makeover executions, beyond its consistently desirable results. This procedure is popular because many times, when a traditional breast augmentation is performed, the patient can end up with scars that haven’t healed properly, making the work more obvious, and even can lead to other health issues. The Single Incision Mommy Makeover optimizes safety, reducing wound healing complications and bleeding factors that can occur from multiple incision surgeries.
Mommy Makeover Recovery
The good news about your Single Incision Mommy Makeover is that the recovery will essentially be the same as it would be with the traditional tummy tuck or breast augmentation procedures. Both procedures happening at the same time might seem like there will be inherently more pain, but that’s untrue.
Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke encourage patients to get up and walk around shortly after surgery. But as with any other aesthetic enhancement surgical procedure offered, there will be some recovery time involved. The few days for you after your mommy makeover procedure will require that you keep in mind your limitations when it comes to getting back to your usual routines. For most, it’s going to take a commitment to recovery for six weeks after the procedure before you’ll be ready for normal exercise or any rigorous lifting.
Ensuring the Best Mommy Makeover Results
To ensure optimum results, we encourage our patients to wait to get this procedure done until they are confident they’ve stopped having children. If you undergo pregnancy or significant weight gain, your muscles will stretch again, and the tummy tuck may need to be redone.
