Where Will Incisions Be Made During Breast Augmentation?

Breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world, but many patients considering it for the first time want to know where incisions will be made.

The location of your incisions plays a major role in your overall results, scar visibility, and recovery. Dr. Danielpour, a celebrity plastic surgeon recognized internationally as one of the top breast surgeons in America, has earned a reputation as the best plastic surgeon in Beverly Hills for creating natural, refined results with discreet, well-placed incisions.

There are three main incision options commonly used during breast augmentation:

Inframammary Incision (Under the Breast Fold):

This is the most common incision choice. It is placed in the natural crease under the breast, which allows excellent surgical visibility and control while hiding scars within the fold.

Periareolar Incision (Around the Areola):

This incision is made along the edge of the areola, blending the scar into the transition between areola and breast skin. It is ideal for patients who need smaller implants or additional adjustments, such as areola reshaping.

Transaxillary Incision (Through the Armpit):

For patients who wish to avoid incisions on the breast itself, the armpit incision offers an alternative. While technically demanding, this approach leaves no scar on the breast but may limit surgical flexibility.

Periareolar Incision Technique

Applied to both breast reduction and augmentation, this incision allows for more visibility as the operation is being performed. The only limitation on this procedure is the size of the areola. Large areolas may be reduced in size during this type of procedure.

Dr. Danielpour customizes incision placement based on your anatomy, implant type, and desired outcome. His artistry ensures not only minimal scarring but also balance, symmetry, and natural proportions. Patients who choose him benefit from his advanced techniques and meticulous attention to detail, which reduce recovery time while enhancing comfort and results.

The Danielpour Difference emphasizes precision and personalization. With his experience performing complex procedures, including breast revision and breast reduction for pain relief, he ensures every breast surgery is tailored to meet your individual needs.
