With the 4th of July this week I’m sure most of you will be hitting the beach and enjoying your very short work week and very long weekend! Here at BHPSG we always stress to our patients the importance of sunscreen. Not only will it reduce your risk of skin cancer but it will keep your skin in the best condition possible and prevent wrinkles from forming keeping you looking younger! Make sure while you are out enjoying the sun that you keep yourself protected with sunscreen! Follow these tips to keep you and your loved ones protected in the hot sun!
1. Make sure the sunscreen you buy is broad spectrum and protects against UVA and UVB rays
2. Sunscreen doesn’t take effect for 15 minutes! So make sure to apply before you are in the sun
3. Re-apply sunscreen every two hours OR after swimming for maximum protection
