Belotero should not be used in patients who with severe allergies manifested by a history of anaphylaxis, with a history or presence of multiple severe allergies. In a clinical study, the most common side effects seen after injection were swelling, bruising, redness, and hardening that resolved within one week. Risk of infection can exist, though rare.
