A Breast Lift for a Younger-looking YOU!

A breast lift, otherwise known in medical terms as a  “mastopexy”, is a  surgery that  lifts and tightens the breasts by removing excess skin and re positioning the breast tissue to support and reshape the breast into a more youthful contour and appearance.

Breasts often change shape and firmness with age. With more maturity, and often hormonal changes, breast can lose volume, firmness,  perkiness, and skin elasticity. The most major contributors to breast ptosis a.k.a, “breast sag” are:

  • Aging
  • Pregnancy
  • Breast feeding
  • Weight Fluctuation
  • Heredity
  • Gravity

Breast lift surgery is not only designed to significantly change the size of your breasts, neither by increasing or decreasing its size.  If fuller looking breast are desired along with a breast lift, then breast implants should be considered as well. For the opposite: smaller, lifted breasts, a breast reduction/lift would likely be the appropriate surgery .

An ideal breast lift surgery patient would be someone who :

  • has realistic expectations
  • is healthy
  • is stable in weight
  • is NOT a smoker
  • has breasts sag,  lost shape and volume and is concerned about it
  • has  nipples that fall below the breast crease
  • have nipples and areolas that point south
  • have some sort of breast asymmetry that can be corrected or improved with a breast lift
A breast lift surgery can take anywhere from 1-3 hours of surgical time. This is mostly dependent upon the type of breast lift being performed. There are several different types of breast lifts, with different types of incisions. The type of breast lift that will be recommended to you will mostly be determined by how much breast tissue you have, the amount of breast ptosis,  and whether or not your also having implants placed.
The recovery for a breast lift surgery is anywhere from 2-6 weeks. Most people are back to work within 5-7 days, and back to full exercise with no restrictions in about 6 weeks.
Typically, no type of chest exercise will lift  a sagging breast. All that chest exercises will do is build the pectoralis major muscle which as a result, can merely lift the nipple (ever so slighty) into a bit of a higher position. Nothing can drastically reshape, rejuvenate, or lift the breast into a higher and more youthful position without surgery.
