That’s right, your “X” is BACK! Don’t worry, it’s not “that ex” that we are referring to. Xeomin has made its return and we are happy to announce that we are offering treatments again for wrinkle correction and prevention with this product that is comparable to Botox What is Xeomin? And why use Xeomin and not Botox or Dysport? Xeomin is in the same class as Botox and Dysport- “Neurotoxins”. Xeomin is a Clostridium botulinum type – A neurotoxin complex. Clostridium botulinum toxin type A is a bacterial toxin that prevents nerves from functioning normally (a neurotoxin). It prevents nerves from releasing a chemical called acetylcholine, which is essential for the nerves to communicate with muscle cells. This toxin therefore prevents muscles from receiving nerve stimulation. This it is useful for treating conditions where excessive nerve stimulation to muscles is causing abnormal muscle functioning or spasms. Xeomin is specifically indicated for medical treatments for adults with cervical dystonia to decrease the severity of abnormal head position and neck pain in both botulinum toxin-naïve and previously treated patients and for the treatment of adults with blepharospasm who were previously treated with onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox). On the cosmetic side, it is observed that it takes about one week for the full effects of Xeomin injections to be realized, and once this occurs, the results seem to last from 2-4 months. Xeomin injections can treat frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet around the eyes. The treatment itself is very quick and can be done during a lunch hour with no evidence that anything was done. After treatment, it is advised that a patient not lay down flat or exercise for 2-4 hours after injection to avoid product migration. Xeomin is best for treating or preventing the following: frown lines (otherwise known as the “11” inbetween the eyebrows) forehead lines crow’s feet (lines around the outer corners of the eyes) bunny lines (nose scrunching lines) corners of the mouth to balance brow positioning smokers lines to narrow a wide jawline and/or square face a gummy smile teeth grinding wrinkled and dimpled chin excessive sweating (known as Hyperhidrosis) Want to look your most youthful?

If the word “Botox” is in your vocab but the word “Dysport” you’re unfamiliar with, that certainly will change for you very soon. “Dysport” will become a very fluent term as the high demand for its use continues to climb. Dysport is a prescription injection, administered by Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke, both skilled and reputable Plastic Surgeons at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group. It is used to improve the look of your moderate to severe frown lines without drastically changing the look of your entire face, yet profoundly rejuvenating your appearance. How is Dysport like Botox? Both Dysport and Botox are Botulinum Toxin A, a derived protein that works by relaxing targeted muscles. The differences seen and reported in the literature include a faster onset and a more affordable price than Botox. The difference in using Botox vs. Dysport is mostly known by the treating physician as these products are diluted and dosed differently. Dysport has been used in Europe for many years and became available for cosmetic use in 2002 in the USA via Medicis, the makers of Restylane and Perlane. So, why choose Dysport? If it is so that the effects take quicker and last longer than Botox, we think that’s a fair enough reason. And saving a little bit more money doesn’t hurt either. In short, it is great to have another option and we are always looking for something better for our patients. To see if Dysport is right for you, call us today! (310) 275-6600

Looking for a more youthful appearance? Want to instantly get rid of deep lines and wrinkles? Are you interested in adding volume to your lips, cheeks, temples, or smile lines but you don’t want downtime, discomfort or pain to achieve this? Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group has exactly what you are looking for! Restylane-L and Perlane-L are hylaronic acid injectible gels that are made with 0.3% lidocaine which allows you to receive the results you’re looking for with minimal-to-no discomfort! Both Perlane and Restylane restore volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds. How to see if Perlane and/or Restylane are right for you First, make an appointment with our fully trained and experienced Plastic Surgeons, Doctors John Layke and Payman Danielpour, to set up an evaluation to see what is best for you and achieving your aesthetic goals. Upon your visit, Dr. Danielpour and Dr. Layke will evaluate your face and give you a treatment plan tailored specifically to obtain a result you’re looking for. Depending on how many areas you inject will determine your treatment time. In most cases, the treatment itself is very quick (15-45 minutes), requires no anesthesia, and you can go about your business the same day. What to expect following treatment You may experience some swelling, tenderness, itching, pain or bruising at the injection site. These reactions usually last only a few days, however, they might last for as long as a few weeks. Some visible lumps may occur temporarily following the treatment. You could experience increased bruising or bleeding at the injection site if you are taking aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen. These reactions generally lessen or disappear within a few days but may last for a week or longer. Unless prescribed by your doctor, it is recommended you avoid these medications for several days after your treatment. If you are considering laser treatment, chemical skin peeling or any other procedure based on a skin response after any Hylaronic Acid Dermal Filler treatment, or you have recently had such treatments and the skin has not healed completely, there is a possible risk of an inflammatory reaction at the injection site. After treatment, within the first 24 hours you should avoid strenuous exercise, extensive sun or heat exposure and alcoholic beverages. Exposure to any of these may cause temporary redness, swelling, and/or itching at the injection sites. If there is swelling, you may need to place an ice pack over the swollen area. Light make-up (preferably mineral make-up) and your normal skin care products can be applied and, the treated area can be gently washed with soap and water. Most patients are pleased with the results of Dermal Fillers. However, like any cosmetic procedure, there is no guarantee that wrinkles and folds disappear completely, or that you will not require additional treatments to achieve the results you seek. While the effects of these fillers last longer than other comparable treatments, the procedure is still temporary. Additional injections will be required periodically, generally within 6-12 months to maintain optimal results. Call us today to see if hylaronic acid dermal fillers, such as Perlane and Restylane, are right for you! (310) 275-6600
