The most recent statistics for 2012 were released and are shown below. Almost 40% of the US population between the ages of 18 and 40 have at least one tattoo. Of the 40% it is estimated that up to 40% have some regret and want to remove their tattoo.

What type of laser is used to remove the tattoo?
We use the latest type of Q switched Nd Yag made by asclepion. We currently are the only center on the west coast with this advanced laser.
How many sessions that the tattoo removal process take?
Depends on the size, depth, quality, and handedness of the tattoo artist. It also depends on the location on the body. We generally tell our patients that it will take at least 6 sessions spaced out 2 months ago. So most tattoo’s will take at least 1 year to be removed.
Is it painful?
Our laser has been shown to be considreably less painful than comparable devices. We dont use numbing creams because it alters the penetration of the laser. The session usually takes less than a few minutes and most people dont think its as painful as getting the tattoo.
Does it blister and scar?
The old lasers all scarred and blistered but the new and improved Nd Yag used at Beverly Hills Plastic Surgery Group does not scar and does not leave a halo or ghost tattoo.
What is the aftercare like?
Very simple, nothing! Just dont have sun exposure. Otherwise its businness as usual.
