Reverse the Signs of Aging with Laser Resurfacing

Laser Resurfacing

Tired of those wrinkles and sun damage on your face? Try out fractionated CO2 laser therapy! The anti-aging breakthrough of the decade, according to many doctors, is a skin-resurfacing treatment known as CO2 fractional laser therapy. Combining the effectiveness of traditional carbon dioxide lasers (long thought to be the gold standard in wrinkle removal) with a new application technique, it delivers powerful results without the traditionally harsh side effects.

How does it work? The natural aging process, combined with exposure to sun and pollution, destroys collagen (the main protein of connective tissue that keeps skin plump and line-free). Laser resurfacing uses beamlets of energy light to bore tiny holes in the skin, which works to put the body’s natural collagen production on fast-forward. What’s new about this laser? Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing does this in a way that prevents damage to the top layer of skin, offering maximum results with minimal recovery time.

The treatment is quick and results can be accomplished in one or two sessions, with about four day’s downtime. A single treatment can lighten sun damage, lift fine wrinkles, reduce pore size, soften scars and tighten skin. Patients continue to see additional improvements as collagen builds over the next several months.

It is especially useful for the hard to fix fine lines around the mouth and eyes.

For the first couple of days following the treatment, you will likely look as if you had a bad sunburn. Any minor discomfort associated should be considered tolerable. Most patients should be able to return to work two days after the procedure. Your skin should peel a lot the first week and a little more for several days afterward. The most common side effects are temporary swelling and redness which should last for about 2 days.
