Plastic Surgeon – co administered PRP facial

The blood facial – or PRP facial – is definitely the most cutting edge facial rejuvenation therapies. PRP stands for platelet rich plasma. The platelets are derived from the patient’s blood. The blood facial treatment uses either a derma-roller or skin stamper that pushes the platelets deep into the layers of the skin, allowing them to go to work inside, revealing a youthful appearance on the outside.
Pronounced effects occur approximately 4-6 weeks after the procedure. Patients have reported significant improvement that lasts 1-2 years. Since the procedure uses no synthetic materials, there is virtually no risk of allergic reaction and no significant adverse events have been reported.
PRP can also be injected with or without filler for volume enhancement and wrinkle correction in conjunction with the facial.

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) has been used in facial rejuvenation around the world since 2006. The treatment is ideal for men and women looking for a gradual but noticeable improvement in skin texture, tone, color, volume and a reduction in wrinkles with minimal or no recovery time. This organic and state of the art procedure offers incredible skin rejuvenation. Platelets in your blood contain numerous Platelet Derived Growth Factors (PDGF). These growth factors stimulate proliferation of fibroblasts and keratinocytes, which produce collagen and keratin. PDGF have a significant role in blood vessel formation, the cellular division of fibroblasts , and in synthesizing collagen and the extracellular matrix, including hyaluronic acid (which is the reason we have plumpness or fullness in a youthful face). Collagen production has been attributed to helping correct the visible effects of wrinkles. Hyaluronic acid has been shown to increase skin tone and volume providing a more youthful appearance.

This procedure is not a surgical face lift nor does it create the same effect as a face lift. The procedure helps restore or enhance areas, which require volume. Improvement of skin texture and tone can be noticeable within 2 weeks and improvement continues for up to 2 years or longer depending on the frequency of treatment.  Areas of treatment include cheeks and mid-face, wrinkling around the eyes, laugh lines, neck and jawline, chest, acne scarring, hands, and more. The process takes between 60-90 minutes, depending on complexity. For the best result, we recommend three to six treatments, 4-6 weeks apart.
