veinsIt is estimated that at least half of the adult female population suffers from the cosmetic problem of sunburst varicosity or telangiectasias. More commonly known as spider veins, this problem is characterized by small, thin veins that lie close to the skin.

These veins form clusters that can be red, blue or purple in color, appearing most often on thighs, calves and ankles. It is possible for the appearance of veins to be accompanied by aching, burning, swelling and night cramps.

Spider veins can result from heredity, medication, weight gain, prolonged sitting or standing, pregnancy and other hormonal shifts. Sclerotherapy is a relatively quick and easy procedure customized for each individual.

Depending on the number and intensity of the veins, there may be a need for several treatments.* During the treatment, the skin will be stretched taught and injected with sclerosing chemical solution.

Magnification, as well as bright and indirect light, helps to ensure the process is completed with precision. Approximately one injection is administered for every inch of spider vein. The deep colored veins that were once unpleasant will begin to decompose, as appearance improves and discomfort fades.

Laser Vein Therapy

New technology allows us to treat spider veins without surgery or an extended hospital stay and long recovery. Laser ablation takes only 45 minutes in two sessions.

The procedure is painless and does not require anesthesia. The laser aims carefully controlled pulses of narrow-wavelength light at the damaged veins. The veins absorb the light and heat up, then collapse and close. They are then gradually re-absorbed by the body. There is no downtime; you may resume your normal activities immediately.

What is Asclera™?

Asclera™ is an injectable agent designed to treat uncomplicated spider veins (less than 1 mm in diameter) and varicose veins (ranging from 1 to 3 mm in diameter). The solution irritates the interior walls of the vein, dissolving the inner lining of the vessel.

This, in turn, causes the walls to become sticky and constrict, eventually closing the vein completely so blood cannot enter. Without the blood rushing into the vein, swelling, bulging, discomfort, discoloration and pain associated with varicose and spider veins are effectively eliminated.*

What Sets Asclera™ Apart?

This product is not new, but this might be the first time you’ve heard about it. Asclera™ has been used in Europe for over forty years in over five million treatments with a very high success rate.

Its anesthetic properties (temporary numbing to ease discomfort) make it an easy treatment option for patients with less skin irritation than current treatments known today to decrease vein visibility. Asclera™ has proven to be very successful with patients’ satisfaction, their overall experience, and results.*

What is the Treatment and Recovery for Asclera™?

Asclera™ takes about 30 to 45 minutes for the actual injection. It takes about two (possibly three or more) sessions for patients to see full results.*

Recovery is quick, and most patients can return to their normal activities in about 24-48 hours following the treatment.

How Much Does Asclera™ Cost?

Most vein removal treatments, such as the traditional Sclerotherapy, cost anywhere between $300-$400 per treatment area. Asclera™ is a bit more value, costing about $500 per session. This price may fluctuate depending on the extent of a person’s condition or if more sessions are necessary to get the desired results.
